Christ, what is wrong with you creatures? When I first read about you in The Time Machine you were scary enough, but then I saw you staring out at me from the pages of one of those Illustrated Classics. All I can say is, I'm glad you live in the far future.
You're pale, you live underground, you're hairy mutant monsters with a taste for nighttime brachiating, and what's worse, you eat people! Pretty, hairless, cretinous white people. Hold on a sec, you may be on to something. Can you come back and start now?

When my sister and I were kids, our mother used to tell us that the morlocks would come to get us if we were bad. Needless to say, we were terrified of them.
