Believe me, I'm as surprised as you are, especially considering that the link from Dooce has increased my traffic about 1000% (seriously). A couple of people emailed me directly, but otherwise, not a word.

The lengthy wait for a reply on question #2 has caused me to knock out a tooth crashing into yet another wall. Will make one more attempt this afternoon, at a dead run. If this fails I may be forced to seek an answer to my passage through solids conundrum elsewhere.
