If you think the interview was bad, just wait until your first day as a FTP when we suck your brain out through your tear ducts and rearrange your DNA to accept the G chromosome. Then we turn you over to THE UNION. To everyone else you look opaque, but you can see straight through yourself. It’s much like being sick: your outer surface is a shell, but inside you’re atomized. A little part of you flies around inside the shell, gathering necessary bits here and there, passing information between lost motes: a messenger that takes temporary duty as consciousness.

Just want to say: Awesome paragraph, you captured the truth of something.

When interviewed I did not return to full solidity right away. It was a very gradual process. Afterwards, I found there was a tiny piece missing. I never got it back. I am trying to arrange my life to avoid interviews in the future, even if that piece was teeny-tiny.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6943519.post-71114033616430690222007-02-23T08:13:00.000-06:002007-02-23T08:13:00.000-06:00Which is yet another thing that makes working at h...Which is yet another thing that makes working at home all the more attractive.Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07303799102284806242noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6943519.post-24052086629288599112007-02-22T19:33:00.000-06:002007-02-22T19:33:00.000-06:00This is a fantastic vignette of how dreadful the i...This is a fantastic vignette of how dreadful the interview process is. I'm going through it myself and, ugh, I feel like I'm in a herd of cattle. I don't like the jumping jacks and twirls they put you through, the hoops through which you have to jump. I hate talking about myself and I hate the stupid job-speak you have to spew. Grr.

Loved this. I'm popping in through Indie Bloggers, but I love the way you write, so I'm subscribing. Hope you don't mind my popping in from time to time. :) -stacyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
